This is the first piece that Mozart ever wrote when he was FIVE years old 18 August , | Updated: 13 May , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s first ever composition was a dainty and balanced little Minuet and Trio in G major and it’s way better than anything by a five-year-old should be. Johann Stamitz was an important composer of the early Classical period, notable as the chief member of the so-called Mannheim School. His innovations in the development of the symphony clearly place him in the pioneering ranks of his time. Stamitz was the first major composer to become identified with the use of four movements in the symphony. This is a wonderful CD comprising four symphonies by Carl Stamitz, featuring the London Mozart Players. I especially enjoy the Symphony in D Major 'La Chasse', or 'The Chase'. This relatively little known work comprises three movements, with the lilting Andante particularly enjoyable/5(9). This Cd includes all of Mozart's Piano trios plus the wonderful clarinet trio. It is very well played but, perhaps could do with a little more inspiration. This music has taken a step or two beyond the trios of Haydn, in particular the 'cello part is much more than a continuo style following of the bass line found in the earlier composer's work/5(71).
